How to Choose LED Candle Bulbs for Chandelier

Chandeliers create elegant atmosphere for home, hotel and commercial space.

Replacing old halogen candle bulbs with LED candle bulbs can cut power consumption and extend service life.

However, many buyers pick wrong bulbs, leading to poor lighting, bulb flickering or fixture mismatch.

This guide covers core points when choosing LED candle bulbs for chandelier.

H2 1. Confirm correct lamp base

Base mismatch is the most‑common mistake.

• E12 / E14: Small screw base, widely used for European chandeliers

• E26 / E27: Large screw base for American and most global chandelier

• B15 / B22: Bayonet base, popular in UK‑style lamps

Check your original bulb or chandelier manual before ordering. Wrong base cannot be installed.

H2 2. Wattage & brightness(lumens)

Do not judge brightness only by wattage. Focus on lumens.

• 3‑4W LED: 300‑400lm, soft ambient light

• 5‑6W LED: 450‑600lm, bright main lighting

Old halogen 25W candle bulb ≈ 4W LED candle bulb.

Too‑high wattage may cause overheat inside narrow chandelier housing.

H2 3. Color temperature

• 2700K‑3000K Warm White: golden yellow, classic for chandelier, hotel, villa, most popular option

• 4000K Neutral White: natural white, for lobby and commercial area

• 6000K Cool White: sharp cold light, rarely used for decorative chandeliers

H2 4. Dimmable function

If your chandelier connects to dimmer switch, you must pick dimmable LED candle bulbs.

Ordinary non‑dimmable bulbs will flicker, buzz or burn out quickly under dimmer.

Notice: dimmable bulb still needs compatible dimmer driver.

H2 5. Shape & size

Candle bulbs have two main shapes: flame tip and straight candle.

Measure inner height of your chandelier lamp cup. Over‑long bulb cannot fit, and will break overall appearance.

H2 6. Critical indicator: CRI

For crystal chandelier, high CRI>80 is suggested.

High color rendering makes crystal sparkle and color look real. Low‑CRI bulb looks dull on crystal ornaments.

H2 Final tips for wholesale buyers

If you purchase for resale, confirm market voltage: 110V for North America, 220‑240V for EU, Middle‑east, Africa.

Avoid wrong‑voltage batch loss.
